Protesters Clash with police in Diyarbakir


Kurdish protesters clash with police in Diyarbakir February 15th. The protesters were protesting against police brutality and other issues which effect the Kurdish people in Turkey. The protesters – about 20,000 of them threw stones and the police responded with water cannons and gas bombs.

It would appear that the longing for human rights and democracy is becoming an issue not only affecting people in the Middle East, but reaches as far as south eastern Turkey. The Kurdish question in Turkey has remained unsolved for decades. It is perhaps necessary to hire more competent people who have the ability to solve the oustanding problem of the Kurdish question.
